: Yes, the people there where John Does, there was an anarchist contingent with black flags but the people interviewed where generally normal semi-political folk who said that they where against the privatisation of the world and the idea that absolutely everything was for sale, honourable, but it would appear that honour warrants pepper spray attacks, battoning, tear gas, paint gun blasts in modern society.

I'm no fan of Clinton, Lark, except when contrasted with the Republican loonies in Congress. Still, perhaps we ought to give the guy a break when he actually says something sensible, as in including the protesters' voices in WTO talks. After all, Clinton could have taken a hardline, Nixonian stance, and then what would we say -- fuck off?
