: The day the concept of the value of hard work is removed from a culture, that culture is doomed.

Of course, the fact that I NEVER insinuated IN THE LEAST EVERthat socialism WON'T necessitate WORK (from everyone) doesn't stop you from repeating your erroneous assertion.

As a matter of fact, when I say that in the socialist future EVERYONE WILL have to work, then the accusations of totalitarianism fly. . .

Which is it, guys?

Socialism = no work?

Or:

Socialism = too much work?

: What comic nonsense it is to suggest that workers who don't want to work for me are subject to stavation.

Or: What comic nonsense it is to suggest that workers who don't want to work for me OR ANY OTHER CAPITALISTS confronting workers with the SAME TERMS are subject to stavation.

When you atomize capitalism into you, personally, as the ONLY capitalist in the world THEN (and only then) you get to abdicate responsibility for the ENTIRE SYSTEM. Like EVERY capitalist does! But capitalism ISN'T what ONE GUY does---it's a system of social relations that involves EVERYBODY.

: Funny, I just had an interview today with a guy who said exactly this, "I'm not looking for a lot of money because my wife works at the casino. I just want to find a good job." He also told me he had been looking for 3 months. I thought of Barry just then and . . . [h]is application went into the can.

Let them eat anecdotes.
