: If you were to criticize free trade then tarring subsidies and protectionism would not a good way to do it. The above is good criticism of unfettered government and those who are the protected corporate beggars.

Because if you believe that removing restriction and governments alone will change anything your investing a laissez faire dream that has never been, and promises to never be, realised due to the changes in the world. Gee you have to admit the fine vision of the pre-capitalist liberals has been betrayed by the bastions of the 'free market', the captains of the good ship private command economy.
