: SDF: Actually, in the passage I displayed, Freire only tried to show that it wasn't God who was resposible for the plight of peasants. It was the peasants themselves who came to the realization that it was their entrapment within an economic system ("the boss") that made them what they were.
Could you tell us if there was another purpose in the doctor telling the peasants of their condition? Or was it simply to impart his insights and understanding to them?
