I think McSpotlight is just trying to remain 100% true to their libertarian sentiments, fair enough, that's admirable but then there are a lot of dead people who where true to their ideals as well.

The ghandian means of persuading your opponent will only work in certain circumstances after all. Hitler rotated the guards and men in the death camps because he knew that executing other humans, even if your programed to view them as sub-humans, will take it's tole and make it difficult to continue the murdering eventually.

McSpotlight: We moderators can't take a side; regardless of our personal feelings, our primary duty - indeed, our only duty, is to keep the debate going and reasonably balanced. That means nothing that can be construed as "winning an argument by force".

A Web debating board is one forum that is almost certain never to lead to anyone's death, after all.

(If we're getting down to it, a lot of the power the Nazis originally gained was because of their mystique; the fact that they were a revolutionary party. If the ideals of the Nazi Party had been held up to public scrutiny and criticism in the first place, then Hitler might very well never have enjoyed the fanatical devotion he did.)
