: :Even if man had not fallen, he would have worked, as we learn from Gen. 2, 15. And what would become of the human race if there were no work to do? man would degenerate both physically and morally. "Work is one of the conditions of life. Whosoever needlessly ceases to work must perish. Even an animal will become sulky and ill when idling in its stall. Idleness in a curse. Industry is honorable. A life without labor, how laborious!"

: As cited in Parliament yesterday - if work is so enobling, why do the rich seem to avoid it so? According to Buckminster Fuller we could feed, clothe and house every man, woman and child on earth with just 2 hours work a week, each. Worth a try?

Well, not to me. Besides, the government has already promised me Social Security based on others working their collective asses off until the day I croak. I'm counting on them keeping the Ponzi scheme around until at least that long. After that if they want to goof off except for 2 hrs. a week, fine.
