There are a million socialisms and the cracks let the water out of the tub, there are a million capitalisms but the tub holds water, go figure.

What I think is that Social Democrats, I assume your talking about the friendly liberal collectivism of Keynes et al not the Social Democratic and Labour Party, that split into the Bolsheviks and Menscheviks, or the Revolutionary Social Democratic Party, which was one of the names for the left opposition that won the elections in Russia before the Bolshevik putsch, or the Social Democratic Federation, that was a libertarian marxist group in Britain in edwardian times, are friends rather than foes.

They can do no harm.
