: A good friend of mine suggested I check this site out. After reading through the messages, it seems that a lot of 20 years old, and people still in school, are having a great time throwing theories back and forth, including theories on revolution! Here's a little cold water:

And here's a little cold water for you.

The EU has just halved fishing quotas in the Atlantic and North Sea; climate change is rendering these fishing grounds too hot for the fish to breed in.

The increasing melting of the Greenland ice sheet could lead to the 'switching off' of the Atlantic current that keeps the UK and Europe's Atlantic coast warm; leading to the devastation of Europe's agriculture and harshening of its climate; the Atlantic current has decreased by some 70% in the last 30 years.

Carbon production at the current rate could lead to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest in the next century.

I can cite at least 5 other reasons why things simply cannot go on as they are at the moment; the Earth is physically not capable of supporting our present lifestyle.

Change must come, because the fish are running out; because the crops are failing and because vector-borne disease is spreading like the plague...

The 'common man' might prefer to stay in blissful ignorance; but they will also be the first to complain when they cannot buy cheap food; it takes breathtaking naivete to imagine that things will go on as they are today...

Revolution happens not because it is decided that it will happen, but because it becomes impossible for things to carry on the way they were previously.

Farinata.
