Doh! Yes, "Surredner or Be shot like Rabbits" was the command issued by the Red Army to the mutineers at krondstadt, in 1921, the Red Army - which ended up shooting its own troops in teh back to stop them going over to the Krondstadteers side - was commanded by one Lev Davidovitch - known to his mates as trotsky... check out Ida Met's work on the krondstadt uprising...
