It's a simple matter of non-linear thermodynamics, Gee.

: The jury is still out on a lot of environmental issues - I know you may wish to see action now, based upon the possibility that it is mans actions that are the cause, but do take heed of that frog fiasco a while back (where mutated frogs were found, blamed upon mankind and later discovered to be victims of parasites common to frogs - they just hadnt been studied much before!!).

: I.e., lets not jump the gun - lets study it just as critically as a physicists theory is studied by his peer group.

Gee, read the letter I posted here on 24/12/99. The evidence has been studied by the peer group; and the overwhelming consensus is that global warming is occurring and constitutes a real threat to large sections of humanity. The three largest atmospheric research organisations in the world are unanimous in their findings and are confident enough about them to say so on the world stage.

In the (inevitably) slightly fuzzy world of climate physics that's about as close as you can get to a made decision. There is enough evidence to make a conclusion, even if the possible extent of the warming isn't clear yet.

The jury is not still out, Gee. It has decided; and bodies like the GCC are withering. Shell and Ford are among the high-profile backers who've recently dropped support for the GCC; the question is not if the GCC dies, it is how soon.

When you play Russian Roulette, the revolver may contain one bullet; it may contain five; this merely alters the odds of the game; it doesn't alter the fact that you're playing the game in the first place.

Farinata.
