: My late father used to say something very similar. (he was a redistributive liberal capitalist). he said that anybody who took the time to think seriously about economics and ethics became either a liberal or a socialist.

The Fabian (state socialist) society used to say no one who has all the facts can fail to be a socialist, I think they're wrong but only because I've known the sorts like Frenchy who are really militant about living in denial, I get to think that some people if they where presented with a perfect functioning socialist republic with happiness and freedom for every individual would still prefer to live in a prison complex capitalism because of their dogmatic ideological fanaticism.

Is it not liberal collectivist? My dad has similar views. The next generation could be even more militant, think about it.
