: : I've just read that link and it's definitely not you on form at all.

: It wouldn't be would it - I didn't write it! Its just the first star trek comment that seemed relavent to your analogy. You must admit the point on militarism was good.

I'm not even so sure about the points on militarism as the guy making the points did himself the show doesnt conform to even present day US military codes of conduct. I wasnt suggesting you wrote it by the way just that it's the kind of black propaganda nonsense that I'm used to seeing thrown up by Frenchy et al.

: : That page appears to me to be one of those two bit anti-socialist pages that is happy to re-write political spectrum etc. so that socialism is synominous with facism etc. now I thought we where all mature enough to have gotten by this by now and debate.

: No the definitions are all clear - I think you can seperate what you call socialism (which Barry, when generous, calls anarchism) from the lenin-marx representation you yourself criticise. thats all.

That's no good Gee there isnt one political spectrum for everyone and one seperate one for people who are friendly and tolerant about things. There are policies that could be positioned on different points on the scale than they are but the ideologies arent interchangable.

: Perhaps it needs re-reading, I don't find it so shocking.

He didn't appear to be criticising the TV show so much as using it as an allegory for socialism and criticising socialism by suggesting that capitalism is faultless and perfect.
