I'm all for grassroots efforts and organizing and such, but the fact is a Republican or Democrat is going to be elected, and the Supreme Court has a very big impact on everyday life. I'm sure that pro-life groups that harrass women outside of abortion clinincs would love another conservative justice, as would prosecuters who hate the habeus corpus rule.

Will a Democrat embrace neoliberalism? You bet, but so will a Republican. While it's true that the lesser of two evils is still evil, we have to consider the larger arena in which these events take place. Regardless of what we may think, whoever wins in November is going to be a corporate stooge. Do we want him to be a corporate stooge that disregards the common good entirely, or one who occasionally modifies the worst excesses of social policy?
