I'll probably read it when I get the chance.

: Someone tried to flog me that book the other day is it any good? what is it about? Is it an anti-capitalist book?

I don't know, but I do know it's set in an environment where any thinking person would be anticapitalist- the Congo of the early sixties, where a democratically elected socialist was overthrown by CIA action and the country descended into capitalist barbarism and civil war. The book, I think, is about a group of American Baptist missionaries who go into the Congo and try to convert the people, with little success. I'll probably read it when I get the chance. I just finished another excellent book, "The Comedians" by Graham Greene, about the Duvalier dictatorship in Haiti- definitely an anticapitalist book.
