I dont for a minute pretend that my religious slant isnt a highly personal affair but I take offense to the right wings co-opting of religion and it's perversion of it's ethical dimension and act accordingly.

I'd add also that you can view the ethical teaching of Jesus in a seperate context from the religious message in my opinion, what about the Tolstoyians or the Humanist/Atheist Christian movement?

I dont generally mention the Jesus would have been a Socialist question unless I believe it may persuade the person invovled or it is required to counter balance a right wing view point.

Incidentally I'm a commited secularist.
