: Comrade Che says: "in the USA there are political prisoners, (Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier, ...), If I am correct the U.S. incarcerates more of its population than anywhere else- except China.

America ceased to be 'the land of the free' quite awhile ago. It may be free-er than many other nations, but that doesnt excuse its own statist crimes.

: In USA, the American citizenry gets a large chunk of their income appropriated by the state to subsidize the military.

And to subsidize interest groups in protected 'business' and 'social needs'

: Also, a portion of the "appropriated" funds are in the form of advertising writeoffs for businesses> Yes, not only does the American public get brainwashed, but they get to finance their own brainwahing. Cool system, eh?

Brainwashed? Never bought that theory - too easy an excuse for volitional behaviour.

: Further, roughly one-third of American children live in poverty, while the media trumpets in ecstasy when the Dow goes up.

The best chance for poor children is wealth creation, not wealth destruction. How would a stock crash help them?

: Currently, Russia has all the disadvantages of Communism without any of its advantages. For all its warts, Soviet communism allowed cradle to grave heathcare,

well, the period between the two was shorter, and the healthcare wasnt as effective at increasing it as western medicine (which itself is nearly as socialised)

shelter, and food (Post Stalin communism at least).

There was plenty in Stalins era, he just planned a little population shrinkage.

: ...and education.

State education? sounds like indoctrination. Seperation of church and state, education and state, economics and state.
