Capitalism is competition the same rules apply. You wont turn to dust but you might suffer mental or physical ill health from being unemployed or simply the rejection, I've just completed a major stufy of the effects of unemployment and I know about this.

Gee when the emergent middle class rebelled the world over, or in the western world, it was a western phenomena, they revoked any lordly position they might have held.

When they made the choice to live in a republic they where choosing to never have the opportunity to kings or lords. Since I support socialism because I dont like being a worker it means I'm forgoing the choice to become a manager etc.
