So the "madman theory" promoted by President Richard Nixon as he carpet-bombed Hanoi on Xmas Eve, 1972, while drinking himself into a stupor, has become an official policy of the US government. I'm beginning to think of Nixon as the prototype for all the Presidents that came after him.
