: Just reading today's (saturday's) gruaniad- tehre was a letter, regarding Northern Ireland, that started to mention 'machiavellian Unionists', well, at first it didn't register, but then the phrase was repeated, and I began to recall that Lark, in his usual was, has started deploying the term Machiavelian extensively in posts, so I thought, well, perhaps machiavellian is common currency in the north...but no, for the letter was Signed Gerard Doneghy- is this Our Lark? has he spilled over from mcSpotlight into the real world? I think we should be told....

Funny you should say that RD, surprised you are reading liberal papers like the Guardian though. I'd be careful of the authoritarian, happy state capitalist letters published in the Irish News by a name sake though they definitely wherent me but the guy had a cool name though.

I was worried the whole "No Unionist Veto" bit made me appear a bit of a Sinn Feiner though, what do you reckon?

Machavallian is a good way to describe the unionist elective despotism over here though. It describes my view of government too, I'm libertarian and minarchist but not totally anarchist because I've seen as much good as bad government.
