Frenchy: As scientists, we have generally not gotten involved in political issues even if they involve science. We have no political agendas.

Farinata: Texans with no political agendas? That's got to be a first...

Qx: Texas is a bastion of extreme retrograde pro-capitalist bilge. I lived in Houston for a long time and believe me when I say that Texas is a right-wing hole (except for pockets like Austin). The State of Texas produces a lot of internal refugees (dare we admit it?) due to the nature of the police forces who have carved it up into a myriad of feudal territories. Any group of people claiming to be non-partisan scientists with 700 or so Texans in it is just trying to fool the public.
