Have you read this book? It's a combination of Leninist politics and Zappology - very interesting stuff if you are a Zappa fan and a socialist. The author's point is that Zappa's music, though underpinned by a petit-bourgeois belief in cottage-industry economics, is "just as much part of a protest against the divisions of capitalist society as the music of Charlie Parker or Kurt Weill" (p. xvi).
