NK: DAMMIT, let me believe what I fucking like! i didn't try to convert you, did I? For teh record, I'm not a Communist or a
Catholic. I'm not a communist because I suspect that total public wonership of everything may not be the best suituation to
satisfy the majority of people, though it woudl certainly better than what we have today. i would look for somthing more like
80% state owned, 20% private or 90% state owned, 10% private. I'm CERTAINLY not a Marxist, precsiely because of teh
atheistic implications. Smarter men than me or you have synthesized communism and Catholicism, by the way. Does the name
Cardenal ring a bell?
Qx: Maybe Cardenal can synthesize a few ther things like excuses for priestly abuses etc. If you think I'm posting in order to
convert then you've missed the side of barn by a long shot. But I guess I was wrong about you being a Communist so sorry.
"Looked at more closely, theological criticism, which was at the beginning of the movement a genuinely progressive factor, is seen to be, in the last analysis, no more than the culmination and consequence of the old philosophical, and especially Hegelian, transcendentalism distorted into a theological caricature. I shall describe elsewhere at greater length, this interesting act of historical justice, this nemesis which now destines theology, ever the infected spot of philosophy, to portray in itself the negative dissolution of philosophy, i.e. the process of decay."
---Erich Fromm from Marx's Concept of Man, (1961), p.92.
BTW, it's a good book and you may find through Fromm a few insights into Marx the man. It's kind of old but worth re-reading from time to time.
NJ: criticize catholicism all you wnat, but please don't attack my sincerity or intellectual legitimacy, and don't try to piigeonhole
me into soem preodrained scheme of teh universe.
Qx: I've done neither of those three things so please get a hold of yourself.
