Whilst I understand that people here discuss poverty as relative, hence I thought I would point it out to the poster, I myself find it hard to accept.

I would find an absolute 'line' far more credible, lest someone with only one house and two cars be considered to be in a state of poverty at some point in the future. You see what I mean? Relative to last weeks state lotto winner I am in a state of poverty - but thats nonsense really, it says only that I am relatively less well off - it says nothing about my ability to access food, shelter and medicine.
