Well. To be frank, for many of us, debating about Marxism is tantamount to casually discussing the merits of Nazism (in some important ways, it is exactly the same). What can be quite disquieting is to see others view a debate involving capitalism and free markets in a similar vein. I can only express my own opinions, and be true to them.

A side note: Not to be 'cruel', but it's nice to see that the unseen hands here can also lose their cool. I've been rather infuriated by the ideas expressed in this forum, more than once - apparently I am not the only person who holds strong personal views, however.

Just remember that, so long as we're talking, we're not shooting. That 'detente' is the real value of this sort of debate; it restrains the Che Guevaras and Roberto D'Abbuisson style arguments. Something to consider.

Thank you for the openness of this site, and your hard work.

McSpotlight: And thank you, Doc, for a civil voice on this subject. The moderators actually work quite hard on this site to promote as free and fair a debate as possible. We are human, but we do our best, because we feel that it is worth it.

(And anyone who tried to set us against any of the other posters would sent packing pronto; we moderators do not and must not take sides in this debate.)
