Gun control is only a small part of a wide cultural problem.

*No of course not. I was just trying to show him how simplistic his arguments were with a bit of simplicity of my own. It works both ways. It saddens me as an outsider looking in that the only public debate which took place after the shootings was about the ease of acquiring fire arms or, at the most abstract, violent movies.
I think the only thing we have achieved in this debate is to prove that the issue is by no means this simple. Gun control is only a small part of a wide cultural problem. I just don't happen to believe that arming every individual in the country is going to make it a better place.
