Stalin simply happened to be a bit more agile and quick than his competitors (remember too that, early on, that the best of them thought to use the Iron Man as a useful tool, and a ready source of revenue and petty patronage).

Perchance, could your most humble presence answer me a curious quandry? If the Bolsheviks died for our sins, what did the Social Revolutionaries and the Ukrainian anarchists die for? Or were they 'deliberately resisting the inevitable tide of history' as well?
