Brecht didn't kill himself. And whether or not East Germany was "horrid' is a personal decision, isn't iut? The east Germans are now beginning to regret their folly in moving towards capitalism in 1990, and are voting for teh Party of Democratic Socialsim, the party of Honecker and Wolf, in response. I wish them good luck.
You would rather live in Markus Woilf's East Germany than in Suharto's Indonesia, or D'Aubuisson's El Salvador, or the colonels' Brazil, wouldn't you? I think most people probably would.
