Houses do not grow on trees

If what you say is true, I don't fault you much. Indeed, I commend your lack of humanity - for it is a human impulse to ignore the foreign, and look down on the weak. One is desirous to state otherwise, but the facts compel obvious conclusions.

In any case, for you to give that man a house, you will need a capitalist economy to produce and furnish it. Houses do not grow on trees, you know - especially the sort of house that a bum in an affluent society like the U.S. will have come to expect as his due. The question is: How to get it to him, without turning the recipient into a dependant and resentful beggar?

Pardon me if I confine the better part of my search to the more 'free-market' ends of the spectrum. Your tack simply doesn't cut it.
