Just as the large scale attempts at capitalism have resulted in the status quo of privately owned command economies, with tendencies towards cartelism and militarised states in the pay of the industry and finance dictators.

I want socialism but I havent really got any concern with being in charge Gee I'm just thinking of the things I could do with my free time, how the shitty jobs could be made less so and how I'd live without insecurity.

If your talking about the stalinists and Maoists, the tankies, they dont really care about being in charge either just obediance to their self appointed leaders and defeating the enamy or any possible source of dissent, it's something similar to how people put off confronting their personal issues by latching onto the crusades or holy wars in ancient times.
