With regard to thie problem we are parents of a school in Harrow England who are facing up to a similar problem. You have our best wishes. I do not know what your planning laws are like in the USA, but we have recently got our council to turn down a similar proposal on the grounds of extra traffic, safety ,litter, loss of amenity to the school. For example our classroom were right next where there was going to be extra cars - why should any children have to suffer that. I would suggest you exploit every angle and every arguement to get this overthrown including trying to find some planning experts in the USA who are sypathetic. Hope you win your fight.

: we need support in boycotting and protesting a drive that endangers the lives of our school's young children. there is a mcdonald's right
on the other side of our school playground that has been there for years. now they want to add a drive that the school's children would have to cross to get to the light to cross a major street. the fact of the matter is, is that we are trying to stop mcdonald's from allowing this new 3rd drive way to be constructed right near the exit drive of our school and right by the playground and where children from the elementary would have to cross everyday. there is also a rec center located across from the school, and that rec center provides free, hot-meals to the underprivilaged in our city - which means all people in the vicinity who would be walking across the proposed driveway would be in danger of being hit by a motorist and possibly killed. this is going on in kent, ohio and we need every bit of help we can get. please e-mail myself and mcdonald's corp in your support. www.mcdonalds.com/corporate/info/contacts/comments/index.html
