Stop the sweat shops

I am a lucky seventeen year old girl who has been fortunate enough to not have been placed in a sweat shop. It is ashame that rich companies such as the Gap, Nike, Pepsi, ect; cannot afford to pay these poor children. But even though everyone knows they really can. I think that if you are going to pay someone less than a dollar a day, it should be payed to someone who deserves it. For example; a person serving time in prison. Being that I am against the death penalty, I think instead of that, they should have to work in a sweat shop and payed that small of an amount. These children did not do anything to deaserve the way they are treated. However, they do deserve the chance at a decent life, a good education and a loving and supporting family. I have no idea what it feels like to work in a sweat shop, but I would like to visit one. It would give me a better understanding of the entire issue. I Thank God every day that I have a loving family,a good education, and a good paying job. But to the person who said that we all have our noses in the air, I agree with you, butplease consider understanding that there are more people than just me out there who care and are trying to put an end to it all.
