Cynic, your name fits you perfectly.

Cynical. I hate cynical people. She's trying to do the best for her daughter. Teachers at schools hardly ever do that. It's the thought that counts. Teachers mostly don't give a shit for us. They're just doing their job as the trained people you talk about.

Maybe you were just lucky. Maybe you got all the great stuff at school that we're lacking and you were only rebellious cause it was fun. So don't bitch at us cause we're not like you, OK? You're one of those cases of you dunno what you've got til it's gone. But no, you're not just sorry, you're out to get back at anyone that seems to be the way you used to be.

You are now officially part of the problem and not part of the solution (if you ever were).

: Your daughter's academic needs are not met by public school, and you cannot afford private school. Thus home schooling is your answer.

: Are you telling me, in other words, that YOU are her teacher?

: Madam, you do her a disservice. My parents are great people but they are not academic educators, they thoughtfully left that role to someone who was trained in that regard. The educational process in the public school system is interrupted and tainted by parental intrusion- I see your daughter's case as the next extreme.

: I dare say YOU will never expose her to topics that you may disagree with. And I also dare say the bias you cannot help but interject into her education will hurt her more than help her in the long run.

: If you believe your solution to be effective, it is your life and far be it from me to tell you how to live it. But my official witness to the struggle of "re-integrated" children stands. It'd be interesting to see how easily your daughter adjusts to college.
