Well... I think parents are quite often stereotyped by most people. Some kids have really great parents, but just don't get to know them that well. Of course their parents don't get to know their kids well enough either and then that's where the 'gap' is. My mom understands me and we get along well. So what's the secret? I talk to her :) She talks to me. Slamming doors only makes things worse... cause your parents just assume you're being stubborn or something. It's not easy, but try to explain exactly what you're thinking. (and yeah some parents don't like what you think and can't respect your opinions... yeah you get those). But if they're not toooooo hard to talk to, give it a try... None.
