My father Charles McDonald Thompson born in Freeburn,KY now of Deland< Florida abandoned my mother Paula Maria Deboeur Thompson, my brother David and myself in the late fifties in Ohio. We spent seven long years on welfare before we were able to flee our poverty in Ohio and make something of ourselves in Canada.
If the law had pursued my father with sufficient interest it would have spared the taxpayers of Ohio the sum given to us during those years. I know not all fathers are the same kind of rat my father is, but too many are.
My brother and I still suffer the effects of this early deprivation in our lives.
I shall patronize McDonalds more as a result of your courageous sponsorship of the concerned program.
