I've seen high school dropouts go on to get GED's and lead decent collegiate lives, earning degrees that will lead them to bright, affluent futures.

And then again I've witnessed the human trash who dropped out of school to have more time for drugs, parties, and sex end up hanging around the home town working for minimum wage, barely scratching by.

I guess we're inclined to notice those who take the second route because they're easier to look at and judge. It's kind of hard to look at someone getting better grades than you in college who dropped out of high school at 16.
