Being a manager at a Mcdonalds and know all of the problems that go along with the Teenie Beenie baby promotion, It's true that the sales of them are restricted. When you work for fast food and you see people lined up at the door at 5a.m. waiting to buy these things you know you are going to have havok. The company sends only so many out to these resturants and are very limited, AND I DO MEAN VERY LIMITED! In our store we were only able to sale a total of five happy meals per cutomer. To purchase one w/o a happy meal you had to make a food purchase. Being that my store is privately own we were able to sell three with the purchase of an extra value meal.

Like I say these toys are limited to the stores, they are limited to the customer as well. When the promotion first started in 1997 it was pure havok. There were no ground rules set and anyone could purchase as many as they wanted, but when we did that, it left alot of unhappy customers. We found out that we ran out of the toys three weeks before the promotion was to end. That was alot of beenie babies! This was brought up before the Corporate Office, before we started this years promotion. It was then decided to go by the restrictive guidelines that were inforced by the Owner/Operators. What it all comes down to is.....You need to work behind the counter during a big promotion like this and see how many times you like to be called a Skank, knucklehead.

Unless you have been there you really don't know what it is like. People really don't take that time to stop and see what it is really like for these poor kids, some who just started working for the very first time, and they are only doing what they are told. In the years that I have worked management I have never in my life seen people with so much greed that they get so hateful with people who haven't done a thing to them. Next time this should happen take a big step back and ask yourself "How would it be if I were Behind the counter?"
