: How could you say that you enjoy your McJob? I worked at McDonalds, low pay, rude customers, loser uniforms and most of all no respect. It may sound like a Rodney Dangerfield response, but McDonalds is a place where you work like a dog for little money and no chance of going anywhere. One other thing, after seeing how the food is made I wouldn't eat there again.

I agree. I worked there for two and a half years. I only got one promotion. I burned myself so many times, and all the managers could say was, "Go take another order." I was yelled at by rude customers who thought they knew everything; "Why did you charge me for the mayo, Why do I have to pay for extra cheese, My fries are cold, can I get new ones" (after waiting for an hour, of course they're cold, and you ate most of them). Lazy managers who stand around and do nothing, but make sure you are working. All they do is eat and talk on the phone. Taking a break after being there for only an hour on an eight hour shift (that would be another six and a half hours without another break. That's illegal). Not getting paid overtime for staying past eight hours. Cleaning toilets is disgusting. Yeah, so I'd get meals for half price, but why should I have to pay for an extra sauce. (Like that ten cents will put them out of business.)

Before I was eighteen, I was staying till' 1:00 am sometimes, doing closing duties, where it's illegal for minors to stay past midnight. Standing at the drive-thru in the middle of winter with -40 windchill for even three hours is hell. You can't pick up money with gloves, so you pretty much have to use your bare hands. The heaters in the drive-thru suck. It may be nice to eat there, but working there is not all it's cracked up to be. The pay is not great. I had to work there for six months to get a lousy 15 cent raise. Most jobs give 25 cents after two months. Those people who love their job there are usually the ones who work there for the rest of their lives because the manager loves them. And for the vegetarians who only eat the fries there, they are cooked in beef shortening, and you don't even want to see how black the shortening gets before they decide to change it.
