Marijuana could definitely benefit many people, but you must think about the burt out idiots who over use it and abuse it. If it were legal, yes, it would employ millions of our welfare/unemployed citizens. There would be a need for more farmers, more factories making machinery, pipes, papers, processing plants, etc. But there would also be those dumbasses that use too much of a good thing out on our busy highways and driving our cabs and schoolbuses. Some people can drive ok under the influence, but most cannot. Studies show that your reaction time decreases dramatically after using alcohol or drugs, and we know this is true from the relaxed feeling we have after using these substances. I honestly wouldn't feel safe letting my mother get into a cab or my child into a bus knowing that the driver had smoked a joint just before arriving! Like I said, I agree that there would be many pro's to making pot legal, but I guess that sneaking around for now doesn't bother me when I think of all the people that would die if it were legalized. There's always a negative side to something like this, and when it comes to lives, it will probably never happen in our country. Everyone would be suing everyone else, what a mess. I guess I'll just stay satisfied with buzzing on the down low for now. But it's neat to wonder what it would be like if everyone would just be considerate of others when having a good time. None.
