We had a similar situation in the United States about ten or so years ago. It was just a few blocks from where I lived at the time, where a large lot of farm land sat. McDonald's wanted to open one of its restaurants on the land. People were so against this that they implemented an entire campaign (petitions, bumper stickers, demonstrations, etc.) to keep the stores out of our area and away from our kids. It was a success, and the nearest McDonald's is still miles away. I hope you are as successful. Good luck.
