: McDonalds does play an important role in society - the provision of clean toilet facilites at all hours in otherwise deserted small towns.
: Another thing - though this may be old news since I only just came across this website - the mcd in my suburb - newtown, sydney- closed down last year because they weren't doing enough business. Too much good food around!

They may be good in your town but that is where they should stay and not go in to village pubs. In the UK they have walked in to villages and not given a dam. They now are in my local pub. I want them out and away from residential areas. So before you say that McDonalds has a role to play in society i would have to say they only make society worse because they don't care about people or society because if they did they would not go in to village pubs when local people don't want them.
