I do not only believe that you yourself may be tending towards ignorance with respect to the obesity issue, but I also believe that you are slightly naive with regards to the environment issue.
Just in case you haven't visited www.mcspotlight.org, there is more to being environmentally friendly than reducing the end product's waste, or recylcing it, or having it made out of recylclable material.
McDonald's is a multinational corporation for a reason, there are less stringent efficiency standards and/or environmental law enforcement (if there are any useful laws at all) in these countries. I speak from not a completely informed perspective, but although it may appear that they are being environmentally on the surface, the fact is that most waste (approximately 90%) is created during production and manufacturing than in the disposal of packaging.
