: I recently red a book about the effects of the McDonald's Corporation on society and was astonished at the degree to which it has had an effect. Does anyone have any opinions as to whether McDonaldisation has been good or bad for society?

big does not mean better. Power, and I do mean power leads to abuse. I know that they are willing to pay big money to get zoning for their store sites, spend millions to fight anyone for any (well, almost any) reason when the structure is threatened. This alone cannot be good for the masses of just plain people. If they say it is good than the public will think it is good if they say it enough. No one advertises nor promotes more than them. they promote what they want. Is this good for social morals in this world? People have to learn to think and ask more questions like you. Kindest regards.
