: Ummm.. and how do you know? I am a manager at a store in Michigan and I know for a fact that ALL stores are now using formula 820 or 108. These are both vegetable oil blends. The shortening is produced by Procter and Gamble. There is NO animal fat in the friers.

That's all fine and dandy, but if you would just look on the side of the box it says right there that there is beef tallow in the fries. right on the box. so although there is no actual BEEF in the fries, there is beef tallow (ie beef fat) in the fries regardless of the oil.

Personally, i find this quite underhanded and shocking that McDonald's would do this when they know many vegetarians unknowingly eat fries thinking they are beef free. For this reason I have warned many of my Indian friends about this.
