Vegetarians I know who've been off of meat-eating for as little as a year can smell the presence of broth or stock in Lipton rice and things of that nature. If you couldn't tell there was chicken in it until you were halfway through your tastebuds must be pretty dead.

I'll fully admit that someone made a mistake, and it is an inconvenience and an offense to you. But I know were I a vegetarian I would be much more cautious about my food, and examine for chicken. Every time I pull away from the drive-up window I'll look and make sure my order is correct.

Anyhow, sorry about the trauma of your experience. But you can't be too careful because people make mistakes... it's ultimately you that is responsible for the management of your own diet. I wouldn't expect McD's employees that are paid minimum wage to care.
