: : The corporate store pays the crew members less money, less frequent raises, the store doesn't even understand the words paid vacation, and if you want benefits you have to pay an arm and a leg for them (on a regular salary they would be quite affordable, they wouldn't be affordable on minimum wage unless you worked 60 hours a week.)

I agree I work for a corporate store and it is hell.

: ****At our store if we have record sales for the month our owner/operator sends us a lovely, expensive bouquet of flowers which are displayed in the store.

what I don't understand is that I work my absolute butt off every shift and I recently was told unofficially by my manager that I got 100% on a secret shopper. Which is all fine, I try and be a good salesperson but the fact that my manager receives a gift voucher evry time this happens is ridiculous I think that somewhere along the line the people who are actually handling the customers and their complaints (I work in a city store where it is impossible to call the manager every time someone has a problem.)should recieve some sort of recognition. Oh sorry I forgot that is what those great badges and pairs of socks that are given away as 'rewards' are for.
