*Now I don't think that this is entirely fair. In a lot of towns (especially around where I grew up) this is the only work available for students and young otherwise unemployed people. Friends of mine worked there because there was nothing else going and I myself once worked for their chicken menacing competitors. Students (there may well be some future Einsteins among them) are particularly favoued by M. because they will move on to better work or further study voluntarily when they reach 18ish.
I try not to feel contempt for people working in these fast food hells.At least a student will probably have the opportunity to move on to something better at some point. I feel for those with nowhere else to go. The powerless in society - the young unemployed- are shamelessly exploited. See how zombie-like you feel after an 8 hour shift cooking french fries and knowing that you have little other option than to do the same thing the next day.
