: Fairly recently, our frontcounter was the centre of an attempted armed robbery with a gun. The worker taking orders on frontcounter was threatened, and tried to get the money out the register (but couldn't because those macdonalds managers don't want staff touching their money except when reaping a profit for the macdonalds corporation, and keep the register locked ie theyonly work when an order is placed). Anyway, the bloke ran away, and the crewperson was distraught - he was going to quit. Do you think that our Macdonalds restaurant reported the incident? No! Why not, you ask? Well I guess they didn't want a black mark on their book (what a joke).

Of course McDonalds must be responsible to protect every employee
from an unpredictable world. I suppose if McDonald's granted you
your "just give them the money" policy and the employee was shot
anyway you would be screaming for flak jackets. Did you ever stop
to think that the current policy protects employees by deterring
armed robbery?

If a man decides to get what he wishes in this world - not by
working - but by threatening to end someone else's life with a
terrorist tactic, how can you make the case to me that an
incidental, disinterested third party is responsible for any
misfortune the victim suffers? This is unbelievable. An 9.0
earthquake could kill them all. Is that McDonald's responsibility
as well?
