: That might be because it appeals only to the most indoctrinated of
: activists Dad. Even at this site there could only a few folks who would sit through what would have to be the very edge of leftist thought.

Oh, then you've read the book, right? What did you think of it?

:Add that to the scarcity of what is most likey a publishing :boondoggle and the likelyhood of finding a reading commorade :decreases further.

Well Stu, you walked right into this one. "Animal Liberation" is a world-wide best seller. It is one of the pillars of the animal rights movement. Its often referred to as the Bible of animal rights. And even though it was written more than 20 years ago, the organization that was named after it still going strong. Feel free to visit one of their web sites: http://www.animal-lib.org.au/who/who.html.

: : This is a soul damning indictment of industrial animal abuse that's sure to wake up some of the sleepers in this forum. Be careful, it will break your heart - if you have one. Spread the word to the uninitiated.

: "Soul damning"? - There you go again Dad.

What....what did I do this time? Soul? Soul damning? Can't I use these words and hate the Bible at the same time? Does christianity have some sort of a patent on these concepts?

: But tell me, are hearts,
: compassion, and general virtue only ascribed to the animal rights
: acivists?

Of course not, Stu. Relax. I'm not gonna damn you to hell (oops, there I go again) just because you don't want to read this obscure, esoteric, almost non-existent book.

: Could I, who doubt the objectivity of someone who would title
: his book "Animal Liberation", possibly hold those virtues also?

Weeellll.....ok, maybe, but it would certainly be a fluke.
Just kidding. It might mean you are kinda anal and closed-minded
but OF COURSE you can have your doubt and virtue simultaneously. In fact, it may surprise you that I suspect you probably DO hold those higher virtues to a signifigant degree. Its really mostly your Bible stuff that pisses me off. I don't just whole-sale hate you as a human in general. I'm not THAT mean.

I just think you, like millions of other people, are deeply confused about their religion / spirituality and are consequently poised to collectively missuse it in harmful and threatoning ways. I suppose I could be nicer about coming to terms with our differences, but I just can't stand people using crap like "turn to God" as a cheap back door escape route when they don't want to face the heat of their own conscience. I guess we all have our little fight-or-flight defense mechanisms, but this one is yours. Here, take it. No charge.
