Actually he is a fairly reasonable utilitarian philosopher, who has extended teh limits of utlitarianism to make claims against 'speciesism', to the extent that tehre is no reason not to treat sentient animals the same as humans. He has slight draw backs in terms of his eugenic propositions, such as infanticide (legitimate by utilitaran reasoning), and teh gneral problems of utilitarianism in general.

He's also writte books on Marx and a few otehr things. ISTR that he was not allowed to speak in Germany because of german academics dislike of his trend towards eugenics, but I might be getting him confused...
