I am in complete agreement with you, Wal-Mart should not be allowed to open up one of their many stores just because they CAN. This puts all others out of business or struggling with longer hours of operation and cutbacks on staff. The company petsmart did the same where I live. We had over 30 other pet stores and now some are for lease, sale, or just going down (gigantic clearance sales). Although this is not right, if you were the CEO of the Wal-Mart Corp. and this new store (for you), meant only another 2 or 3 million, wouldn't you go for it? Especially if it is being built in a small town that you do not know about or have heard about.
So anyway, although I do not agree, it should be expected in this day and age. And no one is to blame, just maybe human nature, which states (in theory), that our natural instinct is to take control and be powerful.
